Cannabinoids are naturally occurring compounds generated within the cannabis plant. There are over 100 known cannabinoids, and these chemical compounds are concentrated mainly in the flower of the plant
Terpenes are responsible for giving cannabis its distinguishing flavor, aroma, and even color. These compounds may enhance cannabis products’ effectiveness and define quality.
Pesticides are compounds used to control pests such as insects, weeds, or fungus to prevent unwanted damage to plants and food products. At Plant Safe, we use industry-leading methods to ensure a safe product. With our comprehensive screening process, you’ll know that pesticides are not being detected in your final result.
So you can ensure your cannabis product is compliant, free from impurities, and made with a high-quality process that removes impurities through testing for residual solvents.
Like any agricultural product, cannabis is susceptible to infection and contamination by microbes and infectious materials, including, but not limited to, bacteria, yeast, mold, fungi, and viruses.
Heavy metals naturally occur in water, air, and soil. Plant Safe utilizes the Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) to perform trace-level testing for heavy metals.
Mycotoxins are naturally occurring toxins produced by certain molds and can be found in a variety of crops. These toxins can be carcinogenic and fatal to humans and animals.
Foreign Materials include anything that shouldn’t be present in your product and can be hazardous to consumers. These can include matter such as string, hair, insects, mold colonies, and other foreign particles.
Moisture Content determines just how much moisture is contained in the cannabis flower. It assists in configuring shelf stability, susceptibility to microbial contamination, processing techniques, and more.

The amount of sample required will vary depending on the specific test you would like completed. For full compliance samples, we require a minimum of 10 grams of sample. For custom packages and research and development services, contact one of our representatives to determine how much of a sample is required.
Every new batch of product is required to undergo compliance testing, per the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS). If a product is sent to another lab and receives unexpected results, a Confirmation Test (second opinion) is advised.
A change in formula or extraction method may yield unexpected results. Therefore, R&D testing at each step in the new process and sending the product for a Compliance Test could potentially save you money and spare any headache.
As we support expedited turnaround time and the most cost-effective approach to testing, we will work with clients on the best path.
